Paul further outlines the qualifications of deacons in 1 Timothy 3:8-13, emphasizing character, integrity, and spiritual maturity.

Understanding the Role of Deacons

Deacons at Grace Point Church are committed members who have demonstrated faithfulness in service, character, and doctrine. Deacons must:

  • Be members in good standing for at least two years.
  • Exhibit the qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3:8-13.
  • Be willing to serve selflessly and mobilize others to do the same.
  • Be both men and women, reflecting the biblical precedent seen in Romans 16:1 (Phoebe, a deaconess in the early church).

  • A long-term financial aid ministry (rather, deacons provide short-term assistance and connections to additional resources).
