TRUNK OR TREAT 2009: October 31, 6:30 - 8:00 PM at GRACE POINT CHURCH

It’s that time again!  Fall is here and we are in full swing preparing for Trunk-or-Treat!  On October 31st from 6:30 – 8 PM we provide a safe, fun, and positive alternative for all children on Halloween night.  Trunks of cars are lined up and offer carnival-type games and activities. We also have a hay ride, inflatables, and lots of CANDY!  If you are thinking, “Hey that sounds like fun! I’d like to help!”  Here’s how you can…

(1)    You can sign up to host a game at your vehicle.  
We need at least 20 teams/families to host a game at their trunk during the festival.  We will line up the vehicles in the parking lot in a way that the children can wind in and out through the activities.  If you are interested in entering your vehicle in the Trunk-or-Treat event, sign up at the Trunk-or-Treat Table in the worship center.  There will be a prize for the best decorated trunk!
 
(2)    You can Donate Candy.  
We need bunches and bunches of individually wrapped candy to hand out to the children as they participate in the activities. We will be opening this up to the community so we will want to have plenty of candy to provide.

(3)    You can Donate Other Items.
We also need donations of hot cocoa, duct tape, flashlights, and boxes (washer/dryer size).  We will be giving out hot cocoa at the hospitality event and the box maze will need duct tape, boxes, and flashlights.
 
(4)    You can Join the Security Crew.
We need adult volunteers to be on the security crew.  The security crew will walk around the event, making sure everyone is safe.

 (5)    You can Join the Parking Crew.
We need adult volunteers to be on the parking crew.  The parking crew will help adults park their cars to avoid overcrowding.  

 (6)    You can Join the Hospitality Crew.  
We need adult to volunteers to help out at the hospitality table.  The Hospitality Crew will answer any questions guests may have, distribute hot cocoa to guests, distribute candy to the trunk hosts, be a first aid station, engage in conversation to build relationships with guests, and distribute GPC connection cards.

 (7)    You can Join the Decoration Crew.  
We need 4-5 adults to volunteers to help create and set up decorations the day of the event.  

(8)    You can Join the Set-Up/Tear-Down Crew.
We need volunteers to help set-up the event and help clean up the church, set chairs back up, and get everything back in order so that we can worship the next morning.  We’ll begin setting up Saturday morning beginning at 10 and tearing down on Saturday as soon as the event is over.

 (9)    You can come and have fun!!
Trunk-or-Treat is for kids of ALL ages.  All are encouraged to wear costumes and come and enjoy the fun!
