Q. What is your worship like?
A. Our worship is an inviting celebration that we hope will inspire and encourage everyone’s participation. We creatively develop a worship atmosphere that an unchurched person can come into and the message and music touch their heart and every believer will grow in their faith seek to encourage every attender into a worship environment that they can identify with and share in personally. Worship is not something you watch, it is something you do.
Q. Are you affiliated with a Christian denomination?
A. We have chosen to affiliate with the Southern Baptist Convention chiefly for the purpose of taking part in their excellent missionary network (International Mission Board, www.imb.org) and because of their historic elevation of the accuracy and integrity of Scripture and Christian doctrine. Our church, like all SBC-affiliated churches, is totally autonomous. That means that no one – not the Southern Baptist Convention, a denominational officer, or a board of directors – can dictate to us what we must do in any situation.
Q. What activities do you offer for my younger children?
A. During our Sunday worship services, we provide excellent, loving, secure care for children through Grade 5. Preschoolers go to Wee World for age-appropriate care and training. Grades 1-5 go to Planet Kids, where they worship and study together in an exciting, kid-friendly atmosphere. At various times during the year, we offer special camps, studies, and fun activities for children.
Q. What about Middle School, Junior High, and Senior High Students?
A. Middle School, Junior High, and High School students worship in the main services on Sunday. On Wednesday evenings, Grades 6 through 8 attend Surge, and Grades 9 through 12 attend Renovation. These are energetic student-themed times of worship, study, and fellowship. Students are offered seasonal camps, ministry and mission opportunities, and a variety of fellowship activities throughout the year. Many of our students serve in various ministries on an ongoing basis, and are an active part of our church’s mission efforts, both at home and abroad.
Q. How do I become a member of Grace Point Church?
A. Please see our HOW TO JOIN page.
Q. Do I have to be a member to take part in Grace Point ministries?
A. It depends on the type of ministry. Some of our ministries, such as service projects, are open to anyone who wishes to participate. Some, such as those that deal with teaching preschoolers and children, require membership and a screening process.
Q. What do I do when I first visit Grace Point Church?
A. When you arrive for a service, there will be lots of help - greeters will show you the way into our building, then direct you to CHILDREN and PRESCHOOL CHECK IN if you have little ones (we have special activities for them (through fifth grade) while you are in the worship service).
GUEST CENTRAL is where to go if you are a first-time guest in worship. We have a gift for you, and one of our family members will help you get aquainted with the building layout. You might want to grab a cup of STARBUCKS COFFEE and a snack in our BEYOND BORDERS CAFE before you enter the auditorium.
Q. Do you have Sunday School classes for adults?
A. We don’t have classes that meet on Sunday mornings, but we have Body Life Groups that meet on various evenings in members’ homes. Some meet weekly, others bi-monthly. These groups provide a time of Bible study (usually centered around the pastor’s message from the previous week) lively fellowship, and a caring group of fellow believers who support, encourage, and pray for each other. Some of the groups provide child care as needed. See our Body Life Page for more information.
Q. How do I join a Body Life Group?
